Ashlee Ennis
We open this newsletter with the sad news of the passing of ex-student, Ashlee Ennis. Ashlee graduated in 2019 and was a keen rower and netball player during her time at Mount Maunganui College. Our thoughts are with her whanau and friends at this tough time.
Off-field Sports Uniforms
A reminder that off-field sports uniforms are available online for purchase by clicking on this link https://pureathletic.co.nz under the ‘Schools and Clubs’ tab. The goal is to have all students playing sports at Mount Maunganui College arriving and leaving in approved sports uniforms. A great place to start is the hoodie with a long or short sleeve tee (speak to your coach to clarify which one they prefer you to have).
Please note, all first team players will be provided with ‘off-field’ kit for the season.
REMINDER - These clothing items are not part of the school uniform and cannot be worn during school hours.

The Black Ferns recently trained at Mount Maunganui College and Under 18 Rugby players Olive Watherston, Asha James and Tyra Wetere got the opportunity to train alongside our talented Black Ferns! This was a perfect opportunity to give these girls a taste of what it's like being a part of NZ’s professional rugby environment and we’re super grateful to the Black Ferns for providing that opportunity.

A few of our volleyballers competed in the IPC Volleyball Tournament. James Walker, Devyn Taikato, Kameo Wagner, Jai Knight (U19) Tj Tusega (U21) and Charlie Vail (U19). BOPSS Indoor Bowls Championships
We have a strong team of six heading the BOP Indoor Bowls Championships, looking to defend their title. This event is being held at the Mount Action Sports Centre on the 23rd of June.
Polar Plunge
We are holding our 11th annual Polar Plunge on the morning of Wednesday 22 June. The event is a fundraiser set up in the memory of students Harrison Mundy and Jed Roberts. Students and families are to arrive at the Omanu Surf Club at 7am for short speeches before a mid-winter dip in the ocean. House points are on the line and students are to replace an item of uniform with something orange, or add something orange to their uniform for school that day, as well as bring a gold coin to donate to the cause.
