From the Principal Kia ora tātou e te whānau, Thank you to all families who made time to come along to our information evenings this week. On Monday we hosted our new families and shared some information on how Mount Maunganui College operates and how we can support each other to get the best out of our students. On Tuesday it was NCEA information evening where we talked with families of our Year 11’s about some of the features of the NCEA. While it is a really powerful qualification, NCEA can also be quite complex so it is important that families understand some of the intricacies and not leave it up to students alone to keep up with their progress. Our Dreamcatcher programme emails a fortnightly update to families where, with one click, you can check on the academic progress of your children in the senior school. The presentations that we shared during the evenings are available on our website and, as always, you are welcome to get in touch with us here if you have any questions. I would also like to remind you of the community consultations the Ministry of Education is undergoing with respect to local enrolment schemes. Details can be found here. We are hosting the first of three community meetings in our school hall on Monday night at 7 pm followed by one at Pāpāmoa College and another at Trustpower Baypark Stadium.

The first School Interview opportunity is on Thursday 18 March and Friday 19 March. Interviews will take place in the School Hall, Library, M Block and A Block. Due to the quick timeframe, we will be opening up the ability to make bookings today. |
