Sailing
Welcome to Sailing at Mount Maunganui College
After having a combined team with Katikati College in 2022, Mount Maungnaui College put together their own team to compete in the Bay of Plenty Championships and Central North Island Championships in 2023.
We also have a Learn to Sail programme for those students new to the sport.
Both the Competitive and Learn to Sail programmes are run in conjunction with Tauranga Yacht club during terms 1 and 4.
The 'Learn to Sail' College Teams Racing is usually on Friday nights.
The Learn to Sail programme uses the Topaz class of boat as training and preparation for sailing the 420 (College) class of boat.
The learn to sail programme is a great opportunity to have some fun out on the water and start building your sailing and team sailing skill.
Where it happens: Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club, Sulphur Point, Tauranga.
Cost for College Learn to Sail is approximately $400 for a term of sailing.
